Pastor Scott Arnold Season 4 Episode 1

Charlie Kirk

I didn’t know anything about him before he was killed and know very little now. I’ve only watched video of him speaking to a college student. What I heard was someone very passionate about the word of God, the Truth, as well as compassionate about His creation, people.

I’ve had questions. So we must go to the Bible for answers.

  1. Why did this happen? Some would say the shooter was crazy, a lunatic, or a far leftist. But the truth is I don’t know what was going on in his mind leading up to this moment. The Bible does tell us why it happened.

John 15:18-21 ESV

Did the shooter hate Kirk? No.

  • He hated what he stood for and also hates what you stand for if it’s biblical.
  1. Why have so many celebrated this act? The short answer is those who celebrate evil have been deceived.

1 John 1:5-10 ESV

We tend to gravitate to those who are like minded.

  • Everyone else is wrong.
  • It is not our job to make everyone believe the truth, just to share it with them.
  1. Is this going to be a turning point for Christianity in America? In the U.S. we have made so much about politics and we try to to blame the right for things and now we try to make this about some extreme agenda of the left.

The real turning point for America will be to live like Jesus and love like Jesus.

  • Because our job is to share the truth, they must see the truth as well.
  • This not about a conversation filled with words that you have heard or read but a life lived for the Word.

John 15:12-17 ESV

When we think of this massage we have the image of Jesus on the cross but He was on the cross long before the nails and crown of thorns.

  • He was on the cross every time He submitted to the father instead of selfish desires.
  • Jesus laid down His life for us yes by the cross but also by giving up His rights.
  1. What does it mean to be martyred?

Define martyr = A person who voluntarily suffer death as the penalty of witnessing or refusing to renounce a religion.

Should we look for opportunities to die for Christ? No. Look for opportunities to live for Him.

Galatians 2:20 ESV

Just as Jesus gave His life long before the cross by surrendering His rights, will you also surrender your rights to Jesus?

  • Will you be a martyr?
