What's Your Offering
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Nearly 15% of Jesus words were connected to money. That’s around 1 out of 10 verses and just under half of His parables were related to money.
But that’s not the type of offering we will talk about today.
Jesus had sent out the disciples to do ministry, sharing the gospel, healing, casting out unclean spirits, etc. we pick up at their return.
Mark 6:30-44 ESV
- Vs 38 Often we don’t even know what we have to offer.
- The owner of the lunch was hungry as were the disciples who took it to Jesus.
- Will you offer what you hunger for to Jesus?
Mark 8:1-10 ESV
- Vs 5 Other times we know what we have and will offer it when asked.
- All you have to do is ask is our mind set.
- How often do you offer it before being asked to do so?
Romans 12:1 ESV
- All your desires, wants, needs, abilities, knowledge, the extreme, and the simple bring as an offering.
- It,s a living sacrifice because those things change over time.
- Here is a great example of a practical way to do this.
Psalm 37:3-7a ESV
- I believe we could all get in line for this.
- Now let’s read it context and see what changes for us.
Psalm 37:1-7 ESV
- Yep we read that right we are supposed to do this even in the face of adversity.
- Lay yourself aside and follow the lead of the Holy Spirit.
- Offering ourselves in the midst of difficulty reveals the depth of your submission.
Conclusion
How well do you lay aside self and submit?
How often do you intentionally offer yourself to the Lord?
Do you still fight for what you want?
Will this be a big step for you?
